Snow Dusts Beijing's Forbidden City

Early-season snow dusted Beijing’s Forbidden City on November 7 after a blizzard alert was issued the previous day.

The city’s first snowfall for the season came earlier than in previous years, according to a local weather bureau. As much as 20 millimeters (0.8 inches) of precipitation was recorded overnight.

Authorities issued a blizzard warning on the evening of November 6, as the cold weather blew into Beijing.

Weibo verified vlogger Qiwei Zhang filmed a video that shows the snow falling on the Forbidden City in Beijing, coating the red walls and yellow roofs in white. Tourists dressed in period outfits can be seen walking in the palace. Credit: Qiwei Zhang via Storyful
