A winter storm swept through Roanoke County, Virginia, on Tuesday, January 7, dusting the trees and ground in snow, the National Weather Service reported. The storm marked the area’s first snow of the decade.
According to reports, some areas got up to 4 inches of snow during Tuesday’s storm. For Wednesday, forecasters predicted high winds for most of southwest and central Virginia, starting with 30 to 40 mph wind gusts at 6 am.
