Snoop Dogg Credits Wife Shante Broadus with Keeping Him Grounded: ‘I Have So Much Trust and Faith in’ Her

The rapper and his spouse have been married for 27 years

Snoop Dogg is singing his praise for wife Shante Broadus.

While attending a Raising Cane’s employee appreciation conference in Cancún, Mexico, on Monday, Sept. 23, the rapper, 52, took part in a Q&A with the fast food establishment's owner and founder Todd Graves, where Snoop spoke highly of his spouse of 27 years.

When asked by Graves, 52, how he is able to stay grounded and find time for family amid his busy lifestyle, Snoop said, "I attribute that to my wife. She's like my backbone. You got to have trust and faith in other people, and I have so much trust and faith in my wife ... when it comes to my family, my grandkids."

Then detailing that Broadus, 52, had FaceTimed him from Disneyland in California before he spoke at the event, which took place at the Moon Palace resort, the "Drop It Like It's Hot" musician further explained, "Those are the types of things that she does for me."

"I don't know how to find time. I give her permission to give me time and to make time for those love moments and those special moments with the people that I care about the most," added Snoop. "Because I work so hard, and sometimes [I] can forget that they exist because [I'm] so focused on working. And I trust the fact that she keeps that always at the top of my mind."

Snoop opened up about his wife in a recent PEOPLE cover story. “She understands me,” the artist said. “She's a great mother, a tremendous grandmother, an excellent wife and a great friend. She knows how to push all of my buttons to make me act a motherf---ing fool or to make me act cool, and I love it.”

"Family is everything. What makes me the happiest in my life right now is for my wife to be happy, and everybody in my family to be healthy, and to be on one accord, which is love," he added.

During the Raising Cane's event earlier this week, Snoop was a special guest alongside Katie Ledecky.

After his Q&A, the rapper performed a DJ set, where he mixed some of his classics with other hits from across genres and different decades.

The event, according to a press release, was set up "to recognize, reward and celebrate" more than 3,000 Raising Cane’s leaders and their significant others. It was described as "an industry-defining conference that was centered around relaxing and having a good time."

Elsewhere during his Q&A, Snoop compared himself to Raising Cane's, stating that his success matches that of the brand.

"Being able to listen to the consumer, and listen to the base of people who keep you successful, who keep you famous, to understand what they love about you and to continue that [is important,]" he said. "... Somebody was saying that Raising Cane's only got chicken strips, french fries and toast. I'm like, 'S---, that's all you need.' I'm the same way. I'm Snoop Dogg. I'm just me. I'm not nothing extra. I'm just Snoop Dogg, but people love coming back to it because it's quality and it's consistent, and I think that's what we have in common."
