Snake Catcher Entranced by Python's Climbing Technique

A Queensland snake catcher who spends most of his days tracking down the reptiles, couldn’t help but be impressed when one of the carpet pythons he’d helped release back to the wild showed off its mesmerizing climbing technique.

Stuart McKenzie of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 shared footage of the climb on August 14, telling Storyful that the video was shot in his hometown of Buderim.

Stating it was a carpet python he’d caught and released a few days earlier, he wrote in his Facebook post that the climbing technique was “amazing”.

“Pythons are some of the best climbers in the business and often during releasing snakes we are lucky enough to see them in action,” McKenzie wrote, before warning that carpet pythons are “nearly capable of climbing anywhere on your house or in your yard.” Credit: Stuart McKenzie via Storyful
