Smoke and Flames Seen in New Mexico as Crews Head Toward Wildfires

Smoke and flames were seen in northern New Mexico as red flag warnings remained in place for the area on Wednesday, May 11.

Footage released by the US Department of Agriculture’s Fire Service shows smoke and flames north of Mora, New Mexico, as crews travel along Highway 434 on Tuesday.

The Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon wildfires had spread to 203,920 acres and were at 39 percent containment as of May 10, according to New Mexico Fire Information.
