Smoke Billows From Prince Albert Wildfire as City Remains in State of Emergency

The City of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, declared a state of emergency as a wildfire burned nearby on May 17.

Timelapse footage captured by Rhonda Cara Hryniuk shows thick clouds of smoke rising from the fire.

On Monday, the city ordered residents and workers north of Highway 55, east of Cloverdale Road, and west of the Honeymoon Road to evacuate, and set up an evacuation center.

By Wednesday, officials said 65 percent of the fire had been contained and that the state of emergency remained in effect. Credit: Rhonda Cara Hryniuk via Storyful
