Small number of Americans in Afghan city: Blinken

Blinken was speaking with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in a joint press conference in Doha. Blinken said that the challenge with the evacuation charter flights is that some Afghans seeking to leave do not have appropriate documents.

Roughly a hundred American citizens are left in Afghanistan according to Blinken, who said that the U.S. government has contact with almost all of them.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Qatar's defense minister Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah also attended.
