KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 — Apple TV+ has had an impressive run of original content on the channel and one of my personal favourites, the spy show that isn’t your typical British spy show, Slow Horses, is back.

Based on the third book of Mick Herron’s Slough House series, we’ll have six episodes to look forward to with one episode per week on Fridays through December 29 this year.

If you haven’t watched it yet, what’s keeping you? Gary Oldman’s Jackson Lamb is a surly spy with a past who seems content enough to be put in a cold storage of sorts while overseeing a bunch of misfit spies who aren’t quite as happy as he is to be put out to pasture.

What trouble do they get into this time? Well apparently someone’s romantic intrigue in Istanbul threatens to expose a buried secret and like it or not, Lamb and his charges are dragged into even more trouble after just about barely surviving the events of Season 2.

Kristin Scott Thomas returns and the ensemble cast includes Bafta Scotland Award winner Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Jonathan Pryce.

New this season is Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù as Sean Donovan, a former British embassy head of as well as Katherine Waterston who plays Alison Dunn, an MI5 agent who discovers a dark MI5 secret.

This season is directed by Saul Metzstein, and produced by See-Saw Films with Veep’s Will Smith behind the adaptation for TV. He is also one of the executive producers of the series alongside Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Jane Robertson and Graham Yos.

There’s plenty of time for you to catch up on the first two seasons of Slow Horses on Apple TV+ before the third season comes around so do so if you’re a fan of capers, spies and Gary Oldman making chewing up the screen look very easy.
