Sky West of Madrid Covered by Smoke From Cebreros Wildfire
Footage from July 20 shows the sky shrouded in smoke from a wildfire that originated near Cebreros, Spain, about 50 miles west of Madrid, as the country struggled with its worst wildfire season in a decade.
The wildfire has grown to about 15 square miles (4,000 hectares), according to a fire official cited by local media. The fire has forced over 2,000 people to be evacuated from the town of El Hoyo de Pinares.
The European Forest Fire Information System reported that this year’s wildfires in Spain are the worst the country has experienced in ten years, with 746 square miles (193,247 hectares) of forest scorched so far. Credit: FPS Josu via Storyful
