Siti Nurhaliza opens up a school in Gaza, Palestine

21 Jul – Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza recently announced that her foundation has successfully opened a school in Gaza, Palestine called Afwa & Aafiyah School.

The singer, who shared the news on social media with a video of the said school, wrote, "Praise be to God, since October 2021, the Afwa & Aafiyah Children's School has been successfully established in Gaza, Palestine. Little by little, we developed the school in a rented building, and employed teachers and staff."

Siti revealed that the school teaches memorisation of verses, Al-Quran, academics as well as morals and manners, and also providing meals to all students during school hours.

"This is the effort of mine, my husband, Yayasan Nurjiwa as well as public donations directly to Yayasan Nurjiwa and also to the Natural Disaster Fund, Palestine and Covid-19," she explained.

In the same post, Siti revealed that one of the purposes for her upcoming show, "Music of The Soul: An Evening Of Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza" is to raise funds for the funding of the school, and thanked all ticket buyers for their kindness.
