“Sister Wives”' Kody Felt 'Undermined' by Janelle Placing 'More Value' in Christine Than Him (Exclusive)

"Janelle and I have both seen so little value in the relationship that we have not made those steps to bring it back together," Kody says in PEOPLE's exclusive sneak peek at Sunday's 'Sister Wives'

Kody Brown is continuing to express his frustration with Janelle Brown's deep bond with Christine Brown.

In PEOPLE's exclusive sneak peek at Sunday's Sister Wives: One on One special, Kody speaks with host Sukanya "Suki" Krishnan about being "so angry" while feeling "betrayed" by Janelle seemingly choosing his first ex-wife over him.

"I'm supposed to be the head of the family and I've been undermined completely here," he says. "It's just you're in a tough spot and you are questioning yourself do I put more effort into this or not? And I think Janelle and I both — this is not an accusation. Janelle and I have both seen so little value in the relationship that we have not made those steps to bring it back together."

Kody, 54, then suggests that "Janelle sees more value in the relationship with Christine than she does in the relationship with me."

The host brings up an unspecified moment that occurred between the two now-exes, resulting in his feelings being hurt. Suki was seemingly referring to the pair's blowout argument that ultimately led to their split. She asked how that ultimately impacted him, leading Kody to respond, "That moment, I was thinking to myself, I don't ever want to talk to Janelle again. I felt so betrayed."

Next, Suki asks fourth wife Robyn Brown — who is Kody's only remaining wife — how she reacted to the matter. The 45-year-old recalls telling the Brown family patriarch to "go work it out" with Janelle, 54, and "go talk to her."

"And it's weird to me because I kept saying, 'You guys have how many years together? You have six kids,'" she says. "That's worth looking at, you know? I said that to him over and over."

Robyn then breaks down in tears, saying that the pair's three-decades-long marriage was "worth fighting for."

As for Janelle's perspective, the 52-year-old recalls being "pretty emotional for a few minutes" after the argument "because [of] the emotional shock of it," especially since they "never" fought in such a way before. At the same time, she still felt as if a "huge burden had been lifted."

Also noting how she felt "relieved," Janelle adds: "I didn't have to keep putting effort into this relationship anymore with Kody."

Janelle confirmed her separation from Kody in last year's Sister Wives: One on One special, airing one year after Christine announced her departure from the plural marriage. His first wife, Meri Brown, confirmed her split from her longtime spouse in January.

The fallout from Kody's first three marriages, along with the growing cross-family tensions, have been a focal point in the TLC hit's 18th season.
