The Sister major spoilers follow.

The Sister finally resolved the mystery of what happened to Elise (Simone Ashley) in last night's (October 28) episode of the thriller.

The ITV four-parter has left viewers gripped this week, with everyone desperate to find out just who killed Elise.

Well, the penultimate episode revealed that despite Nathan (Russell Tovey) believing he himself murdered her, it was actually Bob (Bertie Carvel) that did the deed.

Elise actually died after hitting her head on the car window while having sex with Nathan, which came about after a bad reaction to drugs that Bob had supplied.

The creepy character confessed to the murder in last night's episode, eerily revealing that he was motivated to kill her so that he could create a ghost to haunt the woodlands.

Viewers at home were left pretty shocked by the twist, one tweeting: "Good little twist there although something has always been creepy about Bob".

"I KNEW IT! Damn you creepy Bob!" another added, while a third said: "Was wondering how the whole thing with ghosts connected bit makes sense now. Looking forward to the concluding part tomorrow now".

Another user mused: "Now Nathan knows everything. How far will he go to keep Bob's secret safe."

The Sister will conclude tonight (October 29) on ITV.
