Ed Davey: My final appeal to Londoners to vote Lib Dem

Tomorrow is a once in a generation chance to change the future of our country.

Years of Conservative chaos have left families with soaring mortgages and rents, parents struggling with childcare costs, and our NHS on its knees. Conservative incompetence and infighting have weakened our economy, left our public services crumbling, and diminished our standing in the world. Tomorrow that can start to change.

While a desperate Conservative Party tries anything to cling onto power, the Liberal Democrats have outlined bold plans to tackle the major challenges facing the country.

The big banks and billionaires should be asked to pay a little bit more in tax so we can fund the NHS and care properly. So that everyone can see a doctor or a dentist when they need one, and care workers and family carers are properly valued.

It is clear that in many places the only way to beat the Conservatives is to vote for the Liberal Democrats. And I’m grateful to the many Labour supporters who have told me they are voting for us at this election because that is the best way to defeat the local Conservative.

The Conservative Government may be flailing around with no solutions to this country’s acute problems but nothing has been decided yet. There are lots of seats across London and the South East where the Liberal Democrats are in a knife-edge race with the Conservatives.

A handful of votes could be the difference between a Liberal Democrat MP who will stand up for your community and health services or another Conservative MP. Tomorrow is your chance to change our politics and our country’s future.
