KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Bernama) -- Sino Hua-An International Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Wavetree Technologies Sdn Bhd, has teamed up with Top Fruits Sdn Bhd and Mybeecop Sdn Bhd to develop a smart modeling farming project.
In a statement today, Sino Hua-An said the tri-party collaboration had created a digitalised model for the agriculture markets, riding on artificial intelligence-enabled operating models, data analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) to drive efficiency.
“This is Malaysia’s first fully digitalised, large-scale smart plantation for durian farming with end-to-end traceability,” it added.
Wavetree Technologies is an established agriculture IoT technology provider with a proven track record in developing solutions that drive digital transformation of commercial scale agriculture companies globally.
Sino Hua-An said there were over 121,405.69 hectares of planted durian farms in Malaysia and the number would continue to grow, providing a potential market value of about RM750 million per year for the project.
“The project involves new models and systems to be deployed at Top Fruits’s over 202.34 hectares of durian farms in Johor, Pahang and Kuching, as well as other plantations under its management,” it added.
Sino Hua-An head of technology Vince Ng said the success of the collaboration would bring the group a step closer to materialising its vision to be a digital transformation enabler in Malaysia, while providing a sustainable new revenue stream in an untapped but growing market.
Sino Hua-An is a key player in the food and beverage industry, owning and managing TGI Fridays and Teh Tarik Place franchises in Malaysia.
