Singer Shila Amzah’s parents veteran singer ND Lala and wife Fauziah Sarman end 34-year marriage
KUALA LUMPUR, August 9 — Singer Shila Amzah’s parents, veteran singer Datuk ND Lala and Datin Fauziah Sarman, have ended their 34 year marriage.
The news was confirmed by Fauziah via a post on her Instagram where she revealed ND or his real name Amir Amzah Salleh had divorced her via WhatsApp on Tuesday, August 8.
The mother of four said the veteran entertainer had pronounced the divorce at Masjid Ar Rahman, Bangsar on August 2 but she was only informed on Tuesday.
“Alhamdullilah, Allah has given me outstanding strength to receive this. I accept it with an open heart as I am confident in my prayers, the prayers of people supporting me all these years are to ensure I get a better life, calm and perfect,” she wrote.
She appealed for prayers so that she would continue to be strong after years of living in a lie.
“What has happened is the past but I will use it to toughen myself as I continue with my life,” she added.
Fauziah had in April posted a photo of a woman on her (Fauziah) social media account accusing the woman of wrecking their marriage although there was no confirmation of the matter from ND.
The woman is said to be Shila’s schoolmate at SMK Setapak Indah.
Media had reported that during Shila’s marriage to influencer Ubai Mz last Saturday, ND had left the ceremony in a huff to avoid being interviewed.
