Singer James Arthur Meets Bride-to-Be Who Got Engaged Onstage at His Concert
While on tour, Arthur has invited fans to pop the question onstage during his performance of 'From the Jump'
James Arthur has found himself in the business of love!
With the success of his new song "From the Jump," a duet with Kelly Clarkson, the British singer-songwriter, 36, decided to offer fans who attend his concerts an opportunity to come up onstage and propose to their partner if the moment so moves them.
During an appearance on Clarkson's talk show on Monday, May 20, Arthur — who rose to fame after winning the ninth season of The X Factor in 2012 — reflected on all of the marriage proposals he's since witnessed and explained where the idea came from.
"Well, as you know, when you're trying to play new material all the time, there's people who want to come hear the hits. So it's like, I need to make this a moment somehow. And I just kind of put it to the audience: 'Anyone want to pop the question tonight?' he told Clarkson, 42.

"There's been some really special moments. Yeah, I'm glad we've managed to create those moments," he said of the onstage proposals.

After Arthur said he hasn't followed up with any of the engaged couples, Clarkson surprised him by revealing that one of the brides-to-be, named Casey, was calling in via video to chat with the "Say You Won't Go" singer.
Casey explained to Arthur that after a really difficult 2023 in which she had been diagnosed with cancer and underwent "a lot" of surgeries including a full hysterectomy, she and her partner took a trip to New York City for Christmas. While there, she bought tickets to Arthur's March 15 show in Manchester, England, for her partner, whom she said had never been to a concert before and considers Arthur "his idol."
"So we ended up right near the front and then when James asked if anyone wanted to come up and propose, [my partner] jumped up," she recounted, remembering feeling completely shocked. "The security guy had to lift me up the steps because I literally couldn't get up the steps, I was shaking so much. It was a bit surreal."

As she looked back on the experience, Casey said it was unforgettable for her and her partner. "I can't thank James enough. It really made it a magical moment. It made it so perfect. It was just out of this world," she said.

Just days after Casey's engagement, on March 19, Arthur shared a video from another one of his concerts on Instagram. A man can be seen getting down on one knee on the stage in front of his girlfriend as Arthur performs and the crowd cheers.
Then, text over the screen reads, " But wait..." The footage cuts to another couple getting engaged onstage. "Not one but TWO engagements," Arthur wrote on the video, adding, "You could feel the love ❤️."
Arthur captioned the clip: "Wow, what a tour it's been! Still can't believe this happened 💍👀."
