Simon Yam tries blindfold to understand the visually impaired

26 Jun – Hong Kong actor Simon Yam recently admitted that he underwent a peculiar method to understand the blind in preparation for his movie, "Little Q".

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who spoke about his role as a blind man in the upcoming film about guide dogs, shared that the director arranged an interesting exercise for him three months before filming began.

"He got me blindfolded and asked me to find over 20 different items in a room in three minutes. Since I couldn't see, I got to experience fully how fearful my character got when he lost his eyesight," he said.

Simon was also given a guide dog to bring home and live with him, in order for him to adapt to the situation and further understand the relationship between a guide dog and the visually impaired.

"We were such a successful pair," he said with a laugh.
