Sheriff Warns of Driving Hazards as Glass Fire Grows

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has warned residents of potential road hazards due to an “unpredictable” environment created by the Glass Fire.

This September 29 footage shows a deputy driving on St Helena Road near the Napa County line to show dangerous road conditions.

The Glass Fire continued to rage into Wednesday, September 30, displacing thousands of people and burning tens of thousands of acres in northern California.

The fire had reached more than 48,000 acres by September 30, Cal Fire said, and was 2 percent contained.

Local reports said at least 80 homes had been destroyed in Napa and Sonoma counties. Credit: Sonoma Sheriff via Storyful
