Police lift shelter in place order in Richmond after arrest

Ottawa police have lifted a shelter in place order in Richmond after detaining a suspect Tuesday morning.

Police issued the warning on X around 6:45 a.m. advising residents of Pacing Walk and Maynell Road to stay indoors, and others to avoid the area.

The initial post did not describe the nature of the police investigation.

 

Shortly after 7:30 a.m., police said they had detained someone and concluded the operation.

Richmond is about 30 kilometres southwest of downtown Ottawa.
