Shayne Ward has told of his shock as he and his partner welcomed a baby boy, when they thought they were expecting a girl.
The former Coronation Street star and his fiancée Sophie Austin confirmed in January that they were having a sibling for their five-year-old daughter Willow.
They thought they were having another daughter but to their 'huge surprise' the baby was a boy.
Sharing a picture of the whole family’s hands, the actor told fans on Instagram: “And then there were Four!
“11/06/22 we had a HUGE surprise! Not a baby girl we were expecting but a beautiful baby Boy.”
“We are so overjoyed and blessed that sir baby Ward has arrived,” he added.
Ward, 37, was inundated with messages of congratulations after sharing his lovely news.
Fellow Corrie star Rachel Leskovac posted: “Awwwww how lovely! Congratulations to you and well done Sophie.”
Bhavna Limbachia, who was also on the cobbles, said: “Huge congratulations guys. So happy for you!"
Earlier this year, Ward shared that Austin fell pregnant naturally after they had tried IVF.
He told Hello! he would always tell Austin he knew in his gut and his heart that they would have more children.
“We never gave up,” he said. “It's been a whirlwind. And 16 years after I appeared on The X Factor, I have a beautiful family and one on the way. I am on cloud nine. It's amazing that we're going to have another girl to add to the Ward clan."
Ward rose to fame when he won the second series of The X Factor but is best known for playing Aidan Connor in Corrie.
He was in the ITV soap from 2015 to 2018, when the character took his own life in a storyline highlighting male suicide.
