On Instagram, Mendes gave fans a first look at what's expected to be a show-stopping concert experience.
In the first snap, the "Mercy" hitmaker was pictured backstage, followed by a video of the star with director Anthony Wilson as they waited for the show to begin. In the third and fourth slides, Mendes beamed as he rocked out on his guitar and interacted with fans.
"Portland I was smiling so much I thought my cheeks were gunna pop. Thank you for having us!" he captioned the post.
Fans loved the new photos and expressed their excitement about the rest of the tour.
"So proud of you, this album and this tour!" raved a fan. "I have tickets for the fall and these photos only make me more excited to see this show in person!"
"You're the king of the stage," commented someone else. "Looked like a fabulous opening."
"You look so happy to be back on tour, any chance of free tickets?" another joked.
"I'm so happy this tour is finally here! Can't wait for the rest!" wrote a follower.
"Absolutely love this look! Gotta be my fave outfit you've worn in concert ever!" said another.
The Grammy-nominated singer rocked a cropped sleeveless black vest with abstract embroidery. Mendes completed the ensemble with black pants and a white tank top.
This isn't the first time the star has opted for the beloved clothing brand. In May, he arrived at the Met Gala in a navy blue suit and a matching trench coat with plum lapels designed by Hilfiger.
