Sharon Stone is ‘ready for summer’ with bikini selfie: Older celebrities proving age is just a number
From Demi Moore to Liz Hurley, all hail the any age swimsuit superstars
Sharon Stone is proving your swimwear game can still be epic in your 60s, sharing an age-defying selfie in a leopard-print bikini.
The 65-year-old actor wowed fans after sharing a picture of herself in a tiny Dolce & Gabbana green animal pink two piece with her 3.7 million Instagram followers.
"Ready for summer," she captioned the image, which featured the Basic Instinct star posing in front of a mirror.
Stone certainly isn't the only female celebrity dialling up the glam in their beachwear.
From 56-year-old Halle Berry to 65-year-old Sharon Stone, there are numerous older A-listers who have stripped down to their swimwear in photo shoots and on social media, offering self-confidence inspiration to women around the world.
Of course, its fair to say the A-list do have deep pockets and almost any resource available to them (personal trainers, nutritionists, and an at-home glam squad to name a few), but there’s also a shared self-confidence they all seem to exude as they continue to age gracefully.
Gone are any body insecurities they may have faced as younger women, and in their place are self-assured female trailblazers, who have worked hard to maintain their incredible physiques.
It’s not just sun-soaked US-based celebrities who feature in this round-up: you’ll recognise a number of Brits. Davina McCall, 55, boasts a killer figure thanks to years of hard work on her exercise routine.
These celebrities may have long left their roaring Twenties, but that doesn’t mean they can’t rock a bikini with the best of them... all hail the any age swimsuit superstars.
Sharon Stone, 65
Following a brain haemorrhage in 2001, the model-turned-actor has dedicated herself to staying healthy. “I don’t choose to make growing older a negative. I choose to get older,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
“Growing older is my goal ... I was in an ICU [Intensive Care Unit] for nine days and the survival rate for what I went through is very low. I don’t need someone to make me feel bad about growing older. I’ll tell you what makes you feel bad: when you think you might not.”
Martha Stewart, 81
Earlier this month the lifestyle guru put in an age-defying appearance as the oldest cover star to grace the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Modelling a white Monday Swimwear one-piece, the lifestyle guru joined three other celebrities to front the 2023 edition of the magazine.

Jane Seymour, 72
The British model, who regularly shares swimwear-selfies to her social media, says her confidence has grown with age, telling Good Housekeeping she feels “much sexier now” than when she was younger.
“I’m not trying to prove anything,” she told the publication. “When you’re younger, it’s all about ‘look at me’. I’m not trying to get anyone to look at me.”
Elizabeth Hurley, 57
The British actor largely uses her social media to model her swimwear designs. Earlier this month the 57-year-old Austin Powers alum shared an incredible image of her rocking a tiny coral bikini from her swimsuit brand Elizabeth Hurley Beach, with cute chain detailing.
Hurley, says she isn't a slave to the gym, but has a rather more British approach to staying in shape. Instead of running for miles, or taking three spin classes a day, she claims to avoid routine classes or gym visits altogether.
Davina McCall, 55
With marathons, workout DVDs and a self-proclaimed exercise "addiction" under her belt, it’s no surprising the British TV presenter is as ripped as she is.
She may have received backlash in the past for appearing “too thin” but McCall responded by saying she “doesn’t care” what people think.
Salma Hayek, 56
The American-Mexican actor is another A-lister with an incredibly toned physique. She exudes body confidence, is a big advocate of curves and has been a huge proponent of the juice diet in the past to maintain her figure. She also attributes her shape to daily dog walks.
Demi Moore, 60
Demi Moore may be in her 60s, but she's not hanging up her bikini any time soon. And rightly so.
To celebrate Mother's Day and new grand-motherhood, the actor shared a black-and-white photo of herself wearing a string bikini and holding her grandchild, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis (aka Rumer Willis' daughter!).
Angela Bassett, 64
Looking as good as Angela Bassett comes at a price. The American actor has previously revealed the lengths she goes to to stay in shape – and it’s quite a feat.
“Monday, Tuesday, I may eat carbs, fruit; Tuesday, Wednesday, protein, veggies—veggies every day—no fats those four days, and then the last three days, I flood it with fat,” W magazine previously reported. “Good fat, though: maybe coconut oil, salmon, almonds, almond butter, you know, olive oil, that sort of thing.”
Christie Brinkley, 69
You would be forgiven for thinking model Christie Brinkley was in her 40s – perhaps even 30s – not almost 70. The Sports Illustrated cover star even has a book dedicated to staying young, full of anti-ageing tips.
Elle Macpherson, 59
Macpherson's infamous nickname ‘the body’ was as relevant back in 1989 when Time magazine coined it, as it is today now she's approaching 60. The Aussie model remains as fit as ever – largely thanks to intermittent fasting. “I was finding myself getting easily bloated, not digesting my food, and not really getting the nutrients out of my food,” she told Mind Body Green. “It inspired me to look deeper into nutrition and the way I was feeding my body.”
Halle Berry, 56
Halle Berry regularly showcases her incredible figure in swimwear, proving once again that age need not be a barrier to fitness.
According to Shape magazine, the film star follows Harley Pasternak’s 5-Factor Fitness plan, which strength and core training exercises. She’s also reportedly a kick-boxing fan.
Amanda Holden, 52
The radio presenter recently celebrated her 52nd birthday in style as she posted a picture of herself in a bikini from a white sandy beach on holiday with her family. The TV personality and Britain’s Got Talent judge posed up a storm in the snap, displaying her toned figure in a pink triangle bikini and floaty kaftan.
