Shannon Sharpe Addresses His Ongoing Feud with Shaquille O’Neal: 'I'm Ready to Move On' (Exclusive)
Earlier this month Sharpe and O’Neal engaged in a war of words that exploded into an online back-and-forth
The recent online scuffle between Shannon Sharpe and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal continues to keep sports fans intrigued — and Sharpe just addressed the situation at the Webby Awards red carpet on Monday, May 13.
Earlier this month, Sharpe and O’Neal's disagreement over the 2024 NBA MVP choice led to a war of words that included an unexpected diss track from O’Neal on May 10.
Speaking on the red carpet for this year’s Webby Awards to celebrate the best in online content on May 13, Sharpe told PEOPLE he doesn't have a problem with the NBA legend and he was ready to move on.
When asked if he had anything more to say to O'Neal, Sharpe, 55, said no.
"I mean, I don't have no problem with Shaq," the Pro Football Hall of Famer tells PEOPLE. "He said what he said, I'm ready to move on."

The feud between the two sports figures started when Sharpe accused O'Neal of being jealous of Denver Nuggets player Nikola Jokic. After Jokic won his third NBA MVP title in four years on May 8, O'Neal interviewed him for Inside the NBA, ultimately telling Jokic, 29, he thought the award should have gone to Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander instead.
Sharpe, who didn’t agree with O’Neal’s comment, shared on his podcast The Nightcap that he believes O'Neal — who has only one MVP trophy from his Hall of Fame NBA career — was partly "envious of that," referring to Jokic's longer list of MVP accolades.
Following O'Neal taking shots at the Club Shay Shay podcast host on Instagram for not being "ranked in the top 10" of his own "profession," he upped the ante and returned with some lyrics calling Sharpe out to further make his case.
O'Neal said Sharpe is "way beneath me" in the track and called Sharpe's podcast a "bulls--- podcast."
"Your whole demeanor is faker than new rapper beefy/ You’re soft before you get fly, you’d rather tweet me/ I was in three different cars when you was in three feet/ All I see is dollar signs, they coming in 3-D,” O'Neal raps. “Make it hot, ain’t no way around my degrees/ You are not in my spot, you are like a peewee."
