COVID-19 | The Selangor government has ordered 1 Utama shopping mall in Petaling Jaya to shut effective tomorrow (Oct 11) after the discovery of four Covid-19 cases at its premises.
However, Petaling district officer Johary Anuar, who also chairs the district's disaster management committee, revealed that there have been two more cases involving an employee and a shopper.
Johary appealed for shoppers and staff alike who have been to the cosmetic section of Parkson Elite on the ground floor of 1 Utama shopping mall from Sept 30 to Oct 7 to come forward.
He said those who visited Mac City Service Centre on the second floor of the shopping mall from Sept 25 to Sept 30 should also come forward.
"The Petaling Health Department will conduct a Covid-19 health screening at 1 Utama on Oct 14 and 15 starting 9am to 2pm.
"The priority for screening will be for close contacts who visited the premises on the above dates," he said in a statement today.
He added that people who have visited the stated premises but not within the stipulated dates should get tested at their nearest health facility as soon as possible.
Johary also announced the closure of Tropicana Golf Club and Country Resort after five employees were also tested positive for Covid-19.
"The closures will take effect on Oct 11 for contact-tracing and sanitisation purposes," he added.
