A tornado touched down in Wayne County, Mississippi, on March 17, as a spate of storms and tornados wracked areas in the southern US on Wednesday.
At 12:20 pm, the National Weather Service’s Mobile office reported that a tornado was moving through Wayne County. The NWS confirmed damage “to homes.”
Footage taken by Basilio Yanez shows the tornado. Yanez told Storyful he recorded it in Wayne County near the Strengthford Cooley area.
As of Wednesday evening, tornado watches remained in effect in parts of Alabama and Mississippi, with NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center noting 21 reported tornados in the South. Credit: Basilio Yanez via Storyful
