Severe Storms Across Arkansas Bring Record Rainfall to Fort Smith
Severe storms across portions of Arkansas brought record rainfall amounts to Fort Smith on Tuesday, June 7, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Fort Smith received 4.58 inches of rainfall on Tuesday, the NWS said, beating the previous record of 4.17 inches set in 1899.
The NWS said storms were expected to develop in western Kansas and move southeast into portions of eastern Oklahoma throughout late Tuesday night.
Damaging winds and “marginally” severe hail were possible, according to the NWS.
