Severe Flooding Along Garonne River in Southwest France

The southwest French department of Lot-et-Garonne remained under a red lert on February 4 amid severe flooding.

Video shared by Twitter user @Kidmaakoff shows the Garonne River overflowing in Langon.

The worst-affected area locally was Marmande, with the Garonne reaching a height of 10.2 meters on the night of February 3-4, Sud Ouest said. This was close to a record of 10.56 meters set in 1981.
