Seven people, including 4- and 7-year-old children and a 6-month-old infant, were killed in a deadly overnight Russian Shahed kamikaze drones attack on Kharkiv, the city’s Military Administration head Oleh Synehubov reported on Telegram Feb. 10.

The attack targeted a gas station, causing a fire that spread to nearby private houses after a fuel spill, completely destroying at least 15 of them private homes, according to Kharkiv police chief Volodymyr Tymoshko.

Fifty residents were evacuated from the affected area.

Firefighters managed to contain the fire in the residential quarter, saving 25 houses from spreading flames. Firefighting efforts continue. Law enforcement officials are investigating the site of the tragedy and taking DNA samples, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said.

Thirty-one out of 23 Russian kamikaze drones were shot down over Kharkiv and Odesa oblasts overnight, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
