13 Apr – Meor Mohammad Aidid, the new husband of celebrity Serina Datuk Redzuawan is being investigated for breach of discipline after failing to submit an application to marry for the second time.
The investigation file was opened by the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS), said Perak Police Chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, after Aidid's first wife lodged a report at the Perak Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) in March.
"I have handed over the investigation to IPK Perlis' JIPS because this officer has moved to Perlis. He worked here as a traffic officer before and now reports as a criminal investigation officer for JS D8 IPK Perlis," he said.
It is noted that the 35 year-old Aidid is an officer with the rank of inspector.
He also added that while the marriage was legally registered in Perlis, disciplinary action could be taken if Aidid was found to have failed to request for permission from the department.
On the other hand, Aidid recently stated that he will give his full cooperation with the police after finding out that his ex-wife Nur Hamizah Shaffee made the report alleging that she was forced into being the first wife without her permission.
He also stressed that Serina was not the third party in his marriage, though admitted that he was still married to Nur Hamizah when he and Serina tied the knot last February.
"The divorce case took some time, but we were officially divorced on 9 March. Serina is my only wife now," he added.
It was just last week that Serina announced that she tied the knot with Aidid – sparking another drama with her father, Malaysian celebrity chef known as Chef Wan, who revealed that he had no knowledge of the ceremony. He also claimed that his daughter had eloped to Thailand, an allegation that Serina had since denied.
