Serina Redzuawan lost custody of second child

14 Feb – Actress Serina Redzuawan has now lost the custody of her daughter, Isabella Saffiya O'Luanaigh, after it was given to her ex-husband, Gavin Edward O'Luanaigh, by the Shah Alam Syariah High Court.

This was confirmed by Syarie lawyer Datuk Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar who represented Gavin, 46, or his Islamic name, Salahudin Ghafar, saying that the court made a decision after interviewing the 12-year-old Isabella for almost 30 minutes.

Zainul said that the court had also asked Isabella of her choice, whether to live with her mum Serina or dad Gavin.

"Previously, the court granted permanent custody of Isabella to Serina, while the eldest child, Tristan Tareef O'Luanaigh, 13, to Gavin. However, Serina never took her second child to live with her until today. Based on the court's decision, custody of Isabella and Tristan are given to Gavin, while Serina was given visitation rights every two weeks," he said.

Gavin, who ended his marriage with the actress in 2017 after seven years of marriage, previously filed a claim for Isabella's custody, stating that Serina is already married to another man and has not been residing in a place for long since then.

He also stated that Serina was found to have now moved to Arau, Perlis, which would make it difficult for her to ensure Isabella's safety.
