A team of personnel from the Sepang district police station has delivered urgent food aid to 14 glove factory workers under Covid-19 quarantine in one house at Taman Bunga Raya last night.
Sepang police on their Facebook page said they received a call from a woman at 8.10pm yesterday, informing that her brother - a worker at WRP Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd - had run out of food, along with 13 other colleagues and housemates.
"Acting on the information, Sepang district police chief Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof took follow-up action and instructed for food to be delivered to the house.
"On July 3 at 9.15pm, personnel from Sepang IPD arrived and handed over 16 packets of mixed rice to the residents," said Sepang police.
Last month, WRP's management confirmed that mass testing of 2,838 workers revealed 838 positive Covid-19 cases.
At the time, the company said in accordance with regulatory requirements, workers who have been tested negative were in the process of being moved to an approved third-party facility.
Malaysiakini has reached out to WRP Asia's management for comments on the conditions of its workers currently under quarantine.
