KUALA LUMPUR, March 4, (Bernama) -- SEMICON Southeast Asia 2020, an international trade fair for the semiconductor industry, has been rescheduled to Aug 11-13 from May 12-14, 2020 in light of COVID-19.
SEMI Southeast Asia (SEA) president Bee Bee Ng said the decision followed consultations with stakeholders, including partners, exhibitors, industry peers and the general community.
Nevertheless, the exhibition venue, the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), remains the same.
“We want to ensure that SEMICON SEA 2020 achieves its primary objective of forming connections and collaborations for exhibitors and visitors, both regionally and globally.
"It remains our mission and commitment to make the show highly successful and impactful," she said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, SEMI president and chief executive officer Ajit Manocha said it was disappointing to postpone the event but that the health and safety of the members, exhibitors, guests and employees were the organisation’s top priority.
“We are very appreciative of the continued support of our stakeholders and are committed to working on behalf of the industry to facilitate business connections and accelerate innovation during this challenging time," he added.
