"Selling Sunset's" Chrishell Stause Opens up About How "Painful" It Was To See Ex Justin Hartley Dating Again
It's been almost a year since This Is Us star Justin Hartley filed for divorce from Selling Sunset star and soap actress Chrishell Stause. As we learned in season three of the Netflix original series, the divorce came as a surprise to Stause — and she had less than an hour to pull herself together before the news went public. While Stause has remained single since the divorce, Hartley, 43, has been dating his former The Young and the Restless co-star Sofia Pernas, 31, according to The Blast.
In an exclusive interview with People, Stause opened up about how ″painful" it was to see her ex-husband in a new relationship. "I feel like anybody would be heartbroken to see how quickly or easily you are replaced," she told the outlet. "Of course that’s going to sting,” she continued.

However Stause, a current contestant on season 29 of Dancing with the Stars, remains hopeful. "It’s been almost a year, so I'm excited to get back out there, she said of her dating life. "I’m a hopeless romantic, so I think it can still happen."
Stause, who has endured her fair share of hardships, explained that she "always knows how to look at the bright side because there’s been a lot of dark." The real estate agent has often mentioned that she grew up in poverty and was called the "smelly kid" as a child because she didn't always have running water at home. A few months before the divorce, she lost her father to lung cancer. This past July, her mother passed away from lung cancer, too.
When it comes to her parents' deaths, she says "it's almost an ungrievable loss" that she's been "adapting" to. However, when it comes to a divorce "you can slowly recover and get over [it]."
Stause and Hartley were married for two years and dated for four years before their November, 2019 divorce. This past July, Stause had "Hartley" legally removed from her name, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
