Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn has admitted that one major storyline from the show wasn't actually what it seemed.

The Netflix reality series follows high-end real estate agents for the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles as they work with Hollywood's elite and look for love in the city's swankiest hot spots.

Viewers saw Quinn meet her future husband Christian on Selling Sunset – though the cast member has now claimed that it wasn't their first meeting, after all.

During an appearing on This Morning with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Quinn – who relishes being the "villain" of the show – let slip that she'd actually been set up with Christian months before their on-camera meeting.

"Well actually, that was amped up a little, I'm not going to lie," she told the surprised hosts. "I actually met him through a girlfriend of mine, but Mary spun this story that he was a client.

"No, we were dating for three months and then we bought a house together, but television spun it."

Quinn did claim that Selling Sunset's portrayal of the fast-paced Los Angeles real estate market as "cut-throat and vicious" was accurate, though she described her work as "fun nonetheless".

"You have to make your mark, in this industry, realtors are a dime a dozen so it's all about what you can do to set yourself apart," she explained to Holly and Phil.

"You have to prove you are worthy of selling a home like that."

While Selling Sunset chronicled the blossoming of Quinn's eventual marriage, the Netflix series also showed the breaking down of another high-profile relationship.

Viewers got to see the behind-the-scenes drama of realtor Chrishell Stause splitting up with This Is Us star Justin Hartley, with more to come in the third season.
