It's been an epic 24 hours for the Selena Gomez fanbase, with not one, not two, but THREE brand new songs – that's practically an album, y'all. Today, Selena released "Souvenir" (a dance-y song about a hot-and-heavy fling), "Boyfriend" (a sexy jam about tryin' to find you a mans), and "She" (which goes into the struggles of being a young star in Hollywood).

Though "She" is guaranteed to get stuck in your head for like the rest of quarantine, it's got a lot of insight into Selena's difficult journey. In the lyrics, she opens up about learning to cope with her mistakes, the pain she went through while dating Justin Bieber, celeb party culture, and being taken advantage of as a young girl in Hollywood.

"She" goes over all the things Selena would tell her younger self if she could. Here's a closer look at the lyrics.

"She" Lyrics

Toh-ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da
Ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da
Ta-da-da-da-ta-da

She was too young to be the Hollywood type
Too pure to understand the lows and the highs
She didn't know if she was gonna survive
It all got so much better with time

The lyric "too pure to understand the lows and the highs" hints clearly at drug culture in Hollywood, though it could have a double meaning. In an Instagram Live with Miley Cyrus, Selena recently shared that she has bipolar disorder. The mental disorder is generally associated with manic highs and depressive low mood swings.

All of the evil eyes
Tequila before sunrise
I'd tell her to watch her back
That she's worth more than that

In past interviews, Selena has opened up about being betrayed by people she thought were her friends. She said that before meeting her current friend group, "I was such a wild card. I’d tell everyone my story. I would invite people into my home. Because that’s just who I was ... People were taking advantage of me; people would share things about me, and it’s hard, but I – speaking on friendship specifically – the trust is crucial."

'Cause she was a girl with good intentions
Yeah, she made some bad decisions
And she learned a couple lessons

Just this year, Selena started really opening up about the emotional "abuse" she went through while dating Justin Bieber. In an interview with NPR, the singer expressed regret that she had stayed "in a victim mentality" for so long (though, of course, it's incredibly difficult to leave a toxic relationship).

"It's dangerous to stay in a victim mentality. And I'm not being disrespectful, I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse," Selena told the interviewer. "I think that it's something that – I had to find a way to understand it as an adult. And I had to understand the choices I was making. As much as I definitely don't want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I've ever felt and I've found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible," she continued.

Wish I could tell her
She was a girl with good intentions
Didn't need the second guessing
Didn't need to ever question
Wish I could tell her

She didn't know all of the hurt she could take
Her world was crumbling and so was her faith
Wish I could talk to her, 'cause what I would say
"Oh baby, you're enough to get you out of this place"

Selena has always been open about her religious faith and how that has helped her gain strength. She and Justin Bieber used to attend regular church services together.

All of the flashing lights
Tequila before sunrise
I'd tell her to watch her back
That she's worth more than that

But she was a girl with good intentions
Yeah, she made some bad decisions
And she learned a couple lessons
Wish I could tell her
She was a girl with good intentions
Didn't need the second guessing
Didn't need to ever question
Wish I could tell her

Toh-ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da
Ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da
Ta-da-da-da-ta-da
I tried to tell her

I know you'll get the chance, to find who you are
I know you'll have the choice, before it gets too dark
I know you'll get the chance to find who you are
I know you'll have the choice

On multiple occasions, Selena has made the choice to seek treatment for depression and anxiety. It seems that she made the decision before her mental state got "too dark."

She was a girl with good intentions
Yeah, she made some bad decisions
And she learned a couple lessons
Wish I could tell her
She was a girl with good intentions (Wish I could show you)
Didn't need the second guessing (Wish I could show you)
Didn't need to ever question
Wish I could tell her

Toh-ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da (Wish I could show you)
Ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da
Ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da (Wish I could show you)
Toh-ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da (Wish I could show you)
Ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da
Ta-da-da-da-ta-da-ta-da
She could show you
