Selena Gomez Got Roses from Martin Short and Steve Martin to Celebrate 'OMITB' Season 4

The trio have wonderful chemistry on and off camera.

On Friday, Selena Gomez posted a sweet snap of a bouquet she received from her Only Murders in the Building castmates on her Instagram stories. (The hit show has just begun filming Season 4.) "We're so happy to be back with you, love, Steve and Marty," the typed note read. It was signed by her co-stars Steve Martin, 78, and Martin Short, 73.

Selena added the caption “Day 1” to the pic of the bouquet of white roses.

The three actors have been friends since the show premiered on Hulu in 2021, and they’ve frequently been seen making the awards-show rounds together to promote the popular show. All three actors also serve as producers.

Short once said he hadn’t expected to like Gomez as much as he did, telling People in 2023, “The first day we shot, I had never met Selena. Because of COVID, we’d only Zoomed. ... I thought, ‘I wonder what Selena could be like?’ I mean, she could be a nightmare. She could be a pop princess nightmare.”

He noted how wrong his preconceptions turned out to be. “Right away — from the first second we started to the makeup room — it was, like, fabulous," he said. "Always on time, always knows her lines. So good, so talented, such a pro; it’s fabulous.”

Gomez has said she also didn’t expect to bond with Short and Martin the way she has. “The moment I got on set, they made me feel included,” she once told The Wrap. “Eventually they kind of just took me under their wing and picked on me and made me laugh and had words of wisdom when I needed them … Some of my best friends are 70-year-olds.”

The show, which airs on Hulu, follows three NYC neighbors in an Upper West Side building who join together to launch a true crime podcast in the wake of a resident’s death.
