KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 — Selangor PKR rebutted an allegation that Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has personal interests in an environmental sustainability company that was awarded a contract worth RM700 million by the state government.

This came after recent attacks by several political parties against Amirudin for being listed as one of the directors of Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd (LLB), a subsidiary of a company linked to the Selangor Maritime Gateway project.

Selangor PKR deputy communications director Adzman Kamaruddin said that Landasan Lumayan is wholly owned by the Selangor state government's Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI).

Therefore, he explained that Amiruddin and Selangor executive councillor Izham Hashim sat on the LLSB board by virtue of their position in the state government.

“Both Amirudin and Izham are on LLB's board of directors to represent the interests of MBI and the state government,” he said in a statement last night.

At present, Amirudin is an MBI board member, while Izham is the state councillor in charge of infrastructure and public amenities, agriculture modernisation and agro-based industry.

Adzman had responded following recent attacks by several political parties against Amirudin for being listed as one of the directors of LLB, which is a subsidiary of Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd that is undertaking a project called Selangor Maritime Gateway worth RM700 million.

On Tuesday, Green Party secretary-general Abdul Razak Ismail was quoted by a news portal alleging that Amirudin and Izham both had interests in the company.

Following the allegation, Selangor Perikatan Nasional (PN) lodged a police report in Serdang yesterday afternoon, urging the authorities to probe Amirudin.

Adzman also took issue on those who accused Amirudin and Izham, saying that they should check their facts in the duo's roles and who they represented.

“They should do their research first and think clearly before making such an ill-intended political statement which tarnishes the good name of others and can open them to legal action,” he said.

The Selangor Maritime Gateway will see the widening and deepening of the Klang river from Mid Valley City in Kuala Lumpur to Port Klang.

Its master plan covers 88,000 acres of land along 56km of Klang River. This initiative ascertains the quality and opportunity of potential developments along the river.
