Selangor: Bukit Gasing has lowest voter turnout by 4pm at 56pc, Sementa highest

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 — The Bukit Gasing (N34) state seat had the lowest voter turnout in Selangor at 55.87 per cent as of 4pm today, based on the Election Commission’s (EC) last official update this afternoon.

This means that as of 4pm, 29,831 of the 54,238 registered voters in Bukit Gasing had cast their votes.

The three other seats with less than 60 per cent voter turnout in Selangor by 4pm were Bandar Utama (N36) at 59.09 per cent, Kampung Tunku (N35) at 59.14 per cent, and Bukit Lanjun (N37) at 59.25 per cent.

As for the highest voter turnout in Selangor, 72.09 per cent of voters in Sementa (N43) voted, representing 49,713 of the 68,969 registered voters there, followed closely by Sijangkang (N51) at 72.07 per cent or 45,316 of the 62,907 registered voters there.

This were only four other Selangor seats with more than 70 per cent turnout by 4pm: Ijok (N11) at 71.09 per cent, Meru (N42) at 71.01 per cent, Tanjong Sepat (N54) at 70.89 per cent and Jeram (N12) at 70.75 per cent.

As of 4pm, the entire state of Selangor recorded a 65 per cent voter turnout.

In terms of actual figures, the highest number of voters recorded in Selangor as of 4pm was at Kinrara (N30) at 79,214 voters or 64.50 per cent of voters there.

There were eight other Selangor seats where more than 60,000 voters showed up by 4pm: Kajang (N25) at 69,572 voters, Subang Jaya (N31) 67,710, Balakong (N27) at 65,783, Sungai Ramal (N26) at 65, 596, Bukit Lanjan (N37) at 65, 472, Semenyih (N24) at 65,116, Dengkil (N55) at 63,090 and Kota Anggerik (N40) at 60,231.

In terms of actual figures, the lowest voter turnout in Selangor as of 4pm were Sungai Air Tawar (N01) at 13, 949 voters or 69.72 per cent of the voters there, Sekinchan (N04) at 14,893 and Hulu Bernam (N05) at 19,587 voters. Other seats had more than 20,000 voters.
