Security Incident at Denver Airport Causes Backlog at Baggage Claim

A security incident at Denver International Airport caused trains at the airport to stop temporarily on Monday, December 20.

Airport officials said an individual bypassed security, descended an escalator in the arrivals area, and boarded a train at around 12:30 pm. The individual was then apprehended by police and was being investigated. Normal operations had resumed by Monday afternoon, they said.

Footage by Amanda Mauk shows bags and suitcases piled on top of each other on a static baggage carousel. “Stuck on the train for 25-30 min then come out to 6 planes worth of bags dumbed onto one drop,” Mauk said in a Tweet. Credit: Amanda Mauk via Storyful
