Security Forces Lead Crowds Out of Shanghai Disneyland Following Sudden Closure

Security forces were seen controlling crowds leaving Shanghai Disneyland on Monday, October 31, after the park was suddenly closed in line with local COVID pandemic measures.

Footage from inside the park on Monday evening shows security forces leading crowds towards the exit in staggered groups.

Shanghai Disneyland announced around 12 pm on Monday that the park would be closed “in order to follow the requirement of pandemic prevention and control.” The park has not announced a date for reopening.

The Shanghai Municipal Government Information Office said on Weibo that a “working group” had entered the park to speed up “prevention and control”. They added that departure from the park would be arranged for visitors with a “normal” COVID-19 test.

Two new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Shanghai on October 31, local authorities said on Weibo.
