Unpacking the Latest #MomTok DramaInstagram/TikTok

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is the best thing that's happened to reality television in a moment due to a veritable cornucopia of content that includes (1) swinger sex scandals, (2) a hyper-fixation on soda, (3) drama involving fruity pebbles, and (4) Whitney Leavitt leaving the group chat.

And speaking of Whitney, she recently posted private texts from Mayci Neely on TikTok, which seemingly prove Whitney did let Mayci know she was skipping her brand event. (As you're likely well aware, Whitney skipping the event was a major source of drama on the show.)

Anyway, Mayci spoke about the TikTok reveal to Decider and said the texts prove nothing. "I was obviously really irritated that she did that because it’s a trust thing. There’s nothing bad said in those messages," she explained. "But those are private messages that are between us and like if you were going to share that, you probably should ask my permission first. And I honestly didn’t understand what she was doing with the messages because she blocked out the top date. And I’m like, That’s what mattered. It still shows that you didn’t text me on the night of my event."

She added, "It almost seemed like she was doing that to try to call me a liar. But again, it proved my point that she didn’t text on the night of my event. So, I mean, I don’t know where we stand right now. I thought we were good. I reached out to her the night of the premiere and I said, 'I hope you’re doing okay.' Because I already started to see her getting heat. And I knew she had already watched probably the whole show. She didn’t respond. So, I mean, I don’t know. I thought we were good, but I guess not. I don’t know."

It's times like these that one has to ponder life's most important question: can #MomTok even survive this?
