Seattle residents flock to Lake Washington as historic heatwave begins

In the Pacific Northwest, heatwaves caused by the "heat dome" phenomenon, in which high pressure in the sky traps hot air, hit the region and the temperature in the area reached a record high of over 110 degrees (43.3 degrees Celsius). Lakes and beaches were crowded with people avoiding record-breaking temperatures. The footage was filmed and posted on social media by @mamaofmav.
