Snow Falls on Chicago

Snow fell in Chicago on Tuesday, December 28, breaking a streak of 287 days without it, the National Weather Service said.

Timelapse video posted to Instagram shows snow in the city on Tuesday afternoon.

The NWS reported 2.3 inches of snow at its Romeoville location and 1.5 inches of snow at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.

The NWS said parts of the area could expect more snow through Wednesday and that the accumulating snow would heighten the risk of dangerous travel on New Year’s Day. Credit: @georgemardreamer via Storyful
