The search for missing person of interest Brian Laundrie, former partner of Gabby Petito, whose body was found in Wyoming, continued into the fourth day in Florida’s Carlton Reserve on Wednesday, September 22.
Officials shared footage from Wednesday’s search, which included members of the Sarasota Sheriff’s Underwater Recovery Force. SURF are specialized divers trained to search bodies of water for evidence.
“Area resources are looking at large bodies of water, including dive teams, boats, and sonar equipment. At this time, this does not mean anything has been found. It’s a part of the overall search process,” PIO Joshua Taylor told Storyful.
Petito was first reported missing on September 11, 10 days after Laundrie returned home from the couple’s cross-country road trip alone.
On September 21, the FBI confirmed that Petito’s remains had been identified. Laundrie remains a person of interest in the disappearance. Credit: North Port Police Department via Storyful
