Sean Lee denies trying to copy BTS' Jungkook

19 Jan - Sean Lee has dismissed the idea that he was trying to copy BTS' Jungkook when he came out with the music video of his single, "Tak Sanggup Terima".

The MV has Sean singing on a stage, donning a sleeveless shirt and vest, performing a dance that many said resembled Jungkook's dance moves in "Standing Next To You".

Clarifying the accusations, Sean, real name Lee Jia Ern, stated that he wasn't copying anyone despite being a fan of Jungkook.

"The music video was shot a long time ago and was only released after it finished the editing process. I just didn't expect that Jungkook's dance in his new music video would be similar to mine, although our concept and idea have been developed much earlier," he said.

Sean said he even contacted the production team about the issue, as he was worried that people will accuse him of copying Jungkook.

As for the criticisms he received on TikTok, the actor said that he was quite affected by them.

"I know I am not the best singer or dancer, but I am trying. This is something new that I am trying. It would be a lie to say I was not hurt by the negative comments. I can't control what people say, though. Everybody has their own perspectives," he added.
