A female loggerhead sea turtle was spotted nesting on Vanderbilt Beach in Naples, Florida, before she traversed the sandy shore and returned to the ocean on June 2.
Loggerheads often practice site fidelity, meaning they return to the same spot to nest year after year.
Patti Oar captured this footage while she was enjoying a sunrise walk on the beach and described the experience as “once in a lifetime.”
