SINGAPORE — Singapore jujitsu athlete Noah Lim earned his second gold medal in as many SEA Games editions, after winning the men's under-69kg division at the Dan Phuong Gymnasium in Hanoi on Sunday (15 May).
The 19-year-old faced Malaysia's Adam Akasyah in the final, and submitted his rival with an ankle lock.
Lim had made history at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, where he became the first Singaporean gold medallist in jujitsu, which was making its debut at the Games. Then, he competed in the U-62kg, but made the move up the weight class at this Games.
Lim's gold-medal win is also Singapore's first in Hanoi, with Tang Yong Siang earning a silver in the men's U-56kg division, and Fiona Toh getting a bronze in the women's U-62kg category.
