At least 41 inmates were killed today (September 8) when a fire tore through an overcrowded prison in the outskirts of the Indonesian capital. The blaze broke out in the early hours of the morning at Tangerang jail, when most of the prisoners were sleeping. According to local reports, there were 122 inmates staying in Block C - the prison block that was affected - far exceeding the 40-person capacity.
