Schuylkill River Floods Kelly Drive in Philadelphia
The Schuylkill River burst its banks in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 4, as Tropical Storm Isaias swept along the East Coast.
Footage of the river shows it streaming over barriers surrounding the Kelly Drive Loop, a popular nine-mile lap in Philadelphia.
The City of Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management said the water level for the Schuylkill River was predicted to rise several feet above normal.
According to reports, water rescues and home evacuations were reported across much of the Philadelphia metro region, and local officials expected rivers to continue to rise, possibly leading to more flooding into Tuesday night.
The storm also knocked out power to more than 300,000 PECO customers in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania, according to reports.
