School Students Scream as Earthquake Hits the Philippines

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck the southern Philippines on Tuesday, March 7, the US Geological Survey said.

The shallow quake struck about 2:00 pm local time in the mountainous province of Davao de Oro on Mindanao island.

The Davao de Oro government suspended work and classes on Tuesday and Wednesday to allow for inspections of state buildings and infrastructure to ensure public safety.
